Personal
Music
Music is more than an interest, it is a necessity, a passion and a huge
influence on my life. I have an eclectic taste, but what appeals to me
most are traditional songs and tunes, especially from England and more
particularly from Sussex.
I have played in many bands and duos over the
years (see the Archive section of my
Music page) and presently perform
occasionally at the Chichester Folk Song Club, call dances and play for
Rattlebones Ceilidh Band and perform as one of the Glory Boys (more
details can be found on my Music page).
I can also be found singing to children from the
ages of 4 upwards, and of course getting them to sing along and join in
the music with me.

Cocking village and its surroundings
We
are so pleased to have moved to Cocking
nearly four years ago. Our neighbours and friends have made us very
welcome and the village has much to offer. Its history as a community
stretches back before the Romans. Its role in the area has changed and
adapted as the times dictated and it continues as a vibrant, active
community today.
This area
of West Sussex is particularly
beautiful, having retained its rural character of picturesque villages,
heathy common and grassy downland, and narrow lanes which twist
and turn between ancient hedgerows.
The grandest view across this gentle landscape can be gained from the South Downs Way, running for a hundred miles between Winchester and Eastbourne. This ancient trackway forms the backbone of the South Downs National Park, recently created to protect and conserve our countryside's unique qualities and encourage visitors to share in the area's beauty and charm.
